dear friends,

in order to write general exams in my academic department one must show competency in another language (theoretically related to your research) first.

last week i spent my friday morning transcribing a particularly boring piece on durkheim's place in economic sociology. and this week i got my little certificate.

according to princeton, i am competent in french. someone at the office quebecois de la langue francais is crying.
